Drugs - Illegal Substances

Possession without lawful excuse of a substance included in Schedule I, II, III or IV of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act is a criminal offence. The criminal justice system views illicit drug trade as a "pernicious scourge in our society" (R v Grant, [1993] 3 SCR 223 at p 241).

This being said, the circumstances of the offence and your personal circumstances can be very important to the judge assigned to your case.
Addiction, for instance, "may be a mitigating factor in sentence" (R v McLellan, 2012 BCSC 46 at para 12).

We will look into all the defences and mitigating circumstances available to you. Call us now so we can start crafting a solution to your legal predicament.
